33rd Annual Ann Arbor Garden Walk™

Saturday, June 13, 2026

10 am to 4 pm

"No matter how manicured a garden might appear, it is meant to be experienced -- to be walked in and enjoyed -- not simply admired from afar. Gardens aren't a monologue; they're a conversation."
Meg Donohue, The Memory Gardener

Ann Arbor Farm & Garden will host its 33rd annual Ann Arbor Garden Walk™ on Saturday, June 13, 2026, presenting seven private gardens throughout the city. The event runs from 10 am to 4 pm. Proceeds directly benefit garden and farm-related projects and education in Washtenaw County.

All of the 2026 gardens are owner-created and maintained, many of them evolving over decades. Two neighboring gardens, one sunny, one shady, have been shaped as much by the owners’ friendship as by the land itself. The grounds of an 1860s “country estate” boast an impressive collection of trees, including a century-old American elm. A 1920s home with a distinctive roof line carries a touch of whimsy throughout multiple garden areas and in a playhouse that mimics the house in miniature.

In another garden, a repurposed drainage ditch takes center stage as a feature, complete with bridge, while another provides a naturalistic native buffet for bees, birds and other pollinators. The final garden,
a natural spring and native oak woodland, offers beautiful spaces adapted to the challenges of climate change and escalating deer browsing.

Throughout the gardens, Walkers will discover a plethora of plants, trees and shrubs, many native to Michigan, as well as ponds, pergolas, winding pathways through beautiful scenery and much more.

Special features along the Walk include the Hello! Ice Cream truck, hanging baskets from Prochaska Farms, and unique ceramic art by local artist Gail Piepenburg.

Be a part of this fun and favorite community event! It's a great day for a great cause -- growing more gardens! Find inspiration for your own green space; chat with and learn from fellow garden enthusiasts; enjoy the sights and sounds of nature. We can't wait to see you in the gardens!
