, please register for lunch ($18) and the program, or program only, by midnight, October 4th. Doors open at 11:30 am; lunch is at noon; the presentation begins at 1 pm.

Guests of AAF&G members are welcome to attend the presentation at no cost (registration required). Register your guest here for lunch ($18) and the program. Doors open at 12:30 pm. Please register by midnight, October 4th.


Non-AAF&G members are welcome to attend the program for a $5 admission fee. All funds support Ann Arbor Farm & Garden’s annual garden-related grant and scholarship awards. Doors open at 12:30 pm. Please register by midnight, October 4th.

Zoom: A virtual option will be available. All registered participants as of October 4th will receive an email with the Zoom link prior to the program.

“Green Burials: This Halloween a New Way to Think About Cemeteries”
Presented by Merilynne Rush, MSHP, RN, BSN, and End-of-Life Doula: Hospice and Palliative Studies and a Nurse Educator Certificate from Madonna University, a BS in Nursing from the University of Michigan, and a BA in Humanities and Women's Studies from Michigan State University. Certified Respecting Choices® First Steps Advance Care Planning Instructor. In service to nonprofit organizations, president of the National End-of-life Doula Alliance (NEDA) from its founding in 2018 to October, 2020, a founding member of the NHPCO End-of-life Doula Council, and served on the board of directors of the Green Burial Council, the National Home Funeral Alliance, Michigan Doula Connection, and the Washtenaw Health Initiative Advance Care Planning Committee.  She also received her SageUSA "Caring for LGBT Older Adults" endorsement in 2020.
